Pen
This was our final project and one of the cool things we learned with this
project was how to make a threaded piece for connecting after firing.

After the
tetrahedron, this was the project I dreaded the most.  It seemed
like it would be incredibly difficult, but it turned out to be the most fun and
satisfying project of the entire weekend.  The pen body and a separate top
are made so that after firing, the top can unscrew in order to add and
change beads.

My design used PMC paper cut into leaf shapes and placed on a textured
body.  The top was made to look like a pine cone.  Like the spider bead,
when dipped in liver of sulphur, the pen turned the most incredible shades
of blue, green and purple.  I have used the pen quite a bit since the class
and some of the patina has now worn off.
